Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers help early childhood projects in a variety of ways. If you are interested in volunteering, here are some possibilities:

  • Assist with children during parenting classes – These volunteers could be adults or teens who have an interest in children. Activities may include doing craft projects, helping with homework, and monitoring children’s play.  Parents are on site.

    Contact Debra at debra@eatongreatstart.org or 517-543-5500 X 3004.

  • Charlotte Toddler Time volunteer – Monday 10a.m.- prepare activities, read stories, engage group in songs and finger plays, connect parents to local resources.  Toddler Time volunteers must complete a criminal history check and be listed as a volunteer of Eaton Intermediate School District. Toddler Time volunteers meet monthly with Early Childhood Connections staff, the second Monday of each month, to share information and connect with other volunteers.

Contact Cindy at cindy@eatongreatstart.org or call 517-819-5456.

  • Event volunteers – Early Childhood Connections provides many community events during the year for families with children birth to five years of age.  Volunteers may assist with on-site registrations, doing activities with children, planning activities, helping behind the scenes with set-up and clean-up, wearing literacy character costumes, and other tasks. If you or your organization are interested in volunteering for one or more events during the year, contact the Cindy at cindy@eatongreatstart.org (Bellevue, Charlotte, Grand Ledge, Maple Valley, Mulliken, Sunfield areas) or D’Lynn at dlynn@eatongreatstart.org (Delta Township, Dimondale, Eaton Rapids, Olivet, Potterville) for specific information and needs.
